Alex Porges

Alex joined the Landis team 2008; He now forms a part of the Landis Quality Assurance Unit and acts as a Technical Specialist. Alex performs a variety of key regulatory functions in support of maintaining current pesticide registrations with the US EPA: he addresses inquiries of current and potential clients, interprets regulatory decisions by the EPA that impact clients’ products and provides a nonbiased viewpoint to data obtained in various studies. Alex also collaborates with project leaders in determining the most efficient ways to handle various regulatory tasks, prepares for client and internal meetings, produces follow-up meeting minutes as necessary and carefully monitors all proposed action items.

Alex has a full understanding of the importance of pesticides in society and additionally, assists in the management of a FIFRA task force consisting of several competent chemical companies to cooperate to keep their common class of pesticides in regulatory compliance. Alex audits field studies conducted to research various characteristics of pesticides and the facilities where studies are executed. He has collaborated with the entire Landis regulatory staff in culminating a multinational joint submission of a new pesticide registration. Alex also implements a computer based technical assistance as a secondary measure to IT support.

Alex attended the University of Arizona where he received his B.S. in Microbiology with a minor in Chemistry and Florida State University where he received his M.S. in biochemistry.
